Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a new bill into law on April 28th, 2021 that addresses the poor status of the state’s broadband infrastructure. This new legislation was unanimously passed in both the Iowa House and Senate with support from both Democrats and Republicans and will provide statewide funding for broadband internet expansion.

Time and time again, nature has shown this community what it’s made of and every time, Cedar Rapidians get back up and come together to show their resiliency and ingenuity. Although it has been over a decade since the flood that devastated Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and the surrounding areas, in 2008, the community has rebuilt. A few scars remain from the event the community has not forgotten. And while it may have been over a decade in the making, the Cedar Rapids Flood Wall project has started construction along the river.
